Steps to make Kinder Chocolate Cake:
- Steps 1-7 are for the Chocolate Layer Cake. Step 8 is buttercream and Step 9-10 is assembling
- Preheat the oven to 190•C. Melt the dark chocolate. Stir while melting. Cream butter and sugar until smooth
- Separate eggs and beat the yolks. Gradually add the egg yolks into the butter sugar mix and beat well.
- Add the melted dark chocolate into the mix and combine.
- In a separate bowl, add the baking soda, powder, flour and salt. In a jug add the milk and vanilla essence. Add half of the dry ingredients into the batter and mix, followed by half of the wet batter. Incorporate nicely and repeat x2.
- Using the egg whites, whisk to get soft peaks and carefully incorporate into mixture, folding it in. Be careful so you don’t lose the air
- Divide the mixture into your tins (I used an 8” and 9” tin) and put into the oven for 40 mins or until skewer is clean when poked through.
- For the Buttercream - in a stand mixer (or normal is fine) whisk the butter until nice and soft. Spend around 5-6 mins and slowly add icing sugar, don’t add it all in one go. When fully mixed, add nutella, hazelnut and a bit of melted chocolate, mix in nicely. Leave aside
- Assembling - once cake is cooled, start with evening the tops of the cake, and apply buttercream to each layer. Use nozzle or palette knife to spread this around all over
- For the top, design how uou want and incorporate the chocolate in any style. Once complete, let it set in the fridge and you’re good to go :)
