  1. Take 1/2 cup Urad dal

  14. Get On a high flame, bring water to boil in an idli steamer pot
  15. Prepare Mix the idli batter gently
  16. Prepare Pour into the batter into greased tray
  17. Take Cover the pot with lid
  18. Make ready Let the idly steam for 10 minutes
  19. Prepare Once done, Remove the idly trays
  20. Take Let it cool down for 1 minutes
  21. Make ready With a help of a spoon remove idli from the tray

  1. Soak & Grind urad dal & rice into a smooth batter
  2. Ferment for 8 to 14 hours. Let it rise. Steam idlis. (8 minutes per tray), (i used steamer sheets)
  3. Idli can be served with any curry or chutney
